Donations

Judicial candidates are prohibited from soliciting donations directly, to remain fair an unbiased, all campaign financial matters are handled by the Citizens for an Independent Judiciary. However, Ms. Ryan has also issued the following statement regarding campaign contributions:

"I am not accepting campaign donations of any kind and I challenge my opponents to do the same.

So often during the campaign process I have heard citizens express concern over the election of judges. The knock-down-drag-out campaigns which are so common in politics today seem unsavory for a position like Judge, which requires thoughtfulness, wisdom, patience and tact. Citizens are concerned the party politics, campaign finance and everything else we've come to expect in campaigns undermine the authority and the integrity of the Judiciary.

That's why my campaign is different.

By not accepting campaign donations from lawyers, law firms, corporations, or anyone else there is no worry of impartiality when I join the bench. My goal is to restore integrity to the process by not playing the standard political game. And that is why I challenge my opponents to do the same. By avoiding monetary contributions, we can assure that members of the bench are not beholden to any special interests, individual or organizational.

If you want a Judge who is willing to forgo special interest money, who wants to restore integrity and impartiality to the bench, then the best way to "donate" to my campaign is for you to spread the word. Let your family and friends know that you support a candidate committed to fair and impartial Judges; let them know you support Kristyna Colleen Ryan."
